Kathy,

Settlement examinations and certificates if any
survive will be amongst Quarter sessions Record at the
East Yorkshire Archives in Beverley. You can probably
seach for settlement records on the EYAS website by
entering the surname and/or place name of interest to
you:

Also the EYFHS operate an index to settlements and
removals, which is free to members, though they do ask
for SAE and also a donation to cover costs. I am not
sure if this is available to non members.
