Thanks
I had already investigated on line the availability and cost of purchase. I
must admit that I cannot afford the GBP 47.71 for a modern reprint or the
GBP114 for the original. Certainly I would consider it, if a connection was
proven. However at this stage all I am trying to do is investigate the basis
of a family story.
Family stories, I find are often elaborate spins on the truth, but have some
basis in the truth. For example my direct line, the story I heard was that
the first "WALKER" in line "was an orphan from the French Revolution adopted
by a Dr Walker". At the moment I have 'him' born circa 1827 Paris, France,
and he certainly worked for the early part of his life for a Reverend (not
Walker). Therefore, certainly some basis of truth, but quite a few years out
from a historical perspective, the Revolution being from 1789 to 1794.
Thanks again for the pointer, it is appreciated.
