I've done the train trip from Manchester Piccadilly or Victoria to
Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford or Leeds many times and never yet had
to stand, though that may because I travel outside the rush hour.
The only inconvenience is when the train stops at the
Lancashire-Yorkshire border and the customs and immigration people
come on board. Being Yorkshire officers, they are particularly tough
on any Lancastrians, naturally, but if you're Yorkshire or an
overseas visitor you're OK ! <v.b.g.>
