In a message dated 10/08/2005 04:46:05 GMT Standard Time,
I'm in the US, so don't have immediate access to records. I have found, I
think, my great, great grandfather, but he died after his youngest son who was
killed WWI, so BMD isn't showing a death date.
The records of Births Marriages and Deaths is not closed like the census and
is open for all to search up to the present day.. As you are in the States
you could view all the records online at _www.1837online.com_
(http://www.1837online.com) This is a pay as you go site and costs £5. for 50 units.
Each year is divided into four sections. You can pay by credit card from your
own country so no problem. You can also order a death certificate for about
£7.oo if you find the right entry.
