Roy:

We find it difficult to understand how or why someone helping someone else
should be of that much concern to you or anyone else. We do agree that the
information is available, even if it is for a price, and anyone should be
able to do that for themselves.

Should fowk then become upset if someone buys a pint for you at some pub?
You could certainly do that for yourself, but if someone wants to do you a
kindness, why should anyone object?

If someone makes such a request and gets no response, perhaps they will
better understand. If someone wants to help the poor soul, there's no need
to object, even if the help encourages further requests.
