YES...they are as a result of compacting your Outlook Express.

When I compact my OE the files say .DBX because that is the format of the
program that I used to transfer
YEARS of saved Genealogy emails over from AOL to Outlook Express.

But otherwise, the file extension for your OE Files after you have compacted
will be .BAK (it stands for BACKUP) as in your case.

So you can safely dump them. (I know, I was worried the first time I
compacted my OE too...) But it is OK.

Linda

P.S. *If anyone needs to transfer from AOL I can send them that program.*

Hi All you computer experts,
Today I opened my "Recycle Bin" and in it I found BAK Files for every folder
in my Outlook Express.

I'm quite sure I didn't do anything deliberate to put these files in the
Recycle Bin and wonder how they got there.

Should I restore them or empty the bin?

I would really appreciate some advice.
