Of course, it could just have easily been Willis as William, both names are
VERY prominent in the Younger family. My own grandfather was named John
Willis Younger! It was just speculation on my part.

Amelia and Isaac Hardin's son was named Willis Younger Hardin, wasn't he?
I've run across several men with Younger as their middle name. Maybe
someday we can come up with some primary documents to help sort everyone
out.
