Subject: [APG] Misha Defonseca Holocaust fraud case in the Boston Globe

Our own Sharon Sergeant is mentioned today in the Boston Globe for her
research uncovering a high-profile case of holocaust fraud. What struck me
in my podcast interview with Sharon this week is that she focused on the
paper trail and the use of a photo timeline -- following basic principles of
the GPS Genealogical Proof Standard.

This isn't the sort of case one would wish to work though, but the
accumulated documents Sharon and her team unearthed provide overwhelming
evidence. On advice of her attorney, Misha Defonseca, the subject of
Sharon's investigation, had no choice but to confess.

"Eleven years after the publication of her best-selling Holocaust memoir - a
heartwarming tale of a small Jewish girl trekking across Europe and living
with wolves - the Massachusetts author yesterday admitted the whole story
was a hoax."
