Peter,

As my partner was going to Tescos I thought I would go with her and pop into
the Library which is on the other side of the road.

I looked at the Clophill marriage but the only other names were two
witnesses whose names appeared to be John Bafe (or Basse?) and Fanny Durley
or something similar. There was a third witness but he seemed to sign
several marriages so he was probably the Parish Clerk. Francis Sharp was
described as -of Maulden.

Looking at the Maulden baptisms I could not see Francis between 1812 and
1820. However there were two baptisms which might help:
1809 - Harriott dau of John & Ethel Sharp
1810 - Jemima dau of William & Jemima Sharp

There was quite a strong non-conformist element in Bedfordshire at that time
so that might explain the absence of a baptism for Francis. If you don't get
a good response come back to me as I shall probably go to Bedford RO during
the next week or so and will have a look at the Methodist records etc.

Cheers,

Peter Wood
