Duke, I want to push ahead of the line and be the first to tell you what
a find that is. Do you have a copy of Rev. B's Book? This Peter is at
the top of p. 130 and is of the general family line of Alice Weber, who just
sent us the post a couple of days ago. This is the Mordecai line.
I mentioned the other day, that along with finding more info about the
VA area we are working on and the early days in NC, finding out about the
Mordecai line is one of our important targets. This is great.
To review Mordecai and for the new members, he was born about 1735
or so and his family lived in Darlington Co. SC. He is thought to have had
wife Elizabeth and had children Peter, Paul, Ralph, John James and May.
One of the significant details about this line, is that they later used the
name Meady, this indicating a close connection to the James line and of
course, this is the only use of the name Ralph, at a later time, that I
know of. It certainly points to his being a third brother to James and Samuel.
Patsy Utsey, who lives down there in SC, has been having a hard time
finding original documents for the line. I am sure she will be thrilled by
this.
