I don't think we can question the Samuel/Ann Richardson idea too much. There
is
too much following it that more or less substantiates it.
I agree with Steve that we could sure use more documentation tho.
As for the age thing, just let me interject that my O'Neal great grandfather
was
52 when he married his second wife, Nancy Kilner (she was 32) and had two more
children. (He and first wife Rebecca had 7 ! )
It seems the idea of older men marrying younger women has always been around.
Of course,back then they usually waited until the first wife died, not just
till their
"mid life crisis "
Only rarely did younger men marry older women, but it did happen.
BTW I have in my file that Samuel and Ann were both born in 1730 and married
before 1756 in North Carolina. I have no idea where that info came from.
If anyone has any proof for any on this, I am , still curious in NM
