ALBO _ On March 28, 2005 Carolina Maria (nee Presta) left her earthly family to be with our Heavenly Father. Born on November 27th, 1910 in Grimaldi, Italy she was the eldest of 5 children born to Maria and Giuseppe Presta - sisters Muff (Campsall), Gina (Paul) and brothers Jim and Sandy Presta. Predeceased by her husband Victor and sons Samuel and Raymond she remains in the hearts of her surviving son Malcolm, his wife Donna and grandchildren Angela, Michelle, Scott, Randy, Bonnie and Miriam along with her many great-grandchildren. Services are to be held April 1st at 10:30 a.m. St. Helen's Catholic Church, 3860 Triumph St., Burnaby B.C. followed by a Tea at the church. The Family wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to Eleanor for her friendship and support for the many years of dedication to Carolina's care and wellbeing. ANDERSON _ George M. passed away peacefully in Langley on February 26, 2005. Born in Scotland February 1, 1914 and was a Veteran of WWII. He was predeceased by his wife Ethel in 2001, son Ron in 2002, brothers Bob, Bill and Wallace. Survived by his children Audrey, Shirley (Buddy), Wanita (Dennis), stepchildren Irene (Stewart), Bill (Shirleah), brothers Burt (Peggy), John (Wilma), Andy (Nina), Doug, sister Mae, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his many friends and special friends Rick and Kris. Thanks for all the good care at the Langley Care Home. logoBOULT - Robert Sydney passed away peacefully at the Hollyburn House on March 20, 2005 at the age of 91. Robert was born in Vancouver on August 30, 1913 and worked as an Electrical Worker for B.C. Hydro. He was predeceased by his wife Isabel and his parents Robert and Alice. There will be no service by his request. Following cremation Robert's remains will be interred at the Boal Cremation Gardens of First Memorial in North Vancouver.

Buchan, Dr. Jean Lamond

CORRECTION BUCHAN _ Dr. Jean Lamond, of New Westminster, medical missionary who administered a women's medical clinic in impoverished Bansi, northeastern India for some sixty years, passed into the presence of God on Thursday, March 24, in her 95th year. An Order of Canada recipient, as well as the Order of BC, who emigrated from her native Peterhead, Scotland, in 1923, she received an Honorary Doctorate from Biola, her alma mater and lunched with the Queen on her recent visit to BC. Popularly know as Canada's Mother Theresa, Jean dedicated her life to the healing and welfare of the Bansi people where she was also instrumental in establishing the Eton Christian Academy. Her documentary, " The Road to Bansi" and her autobiography, "Whatever It Takes" covers her challenging life's work. Predeceased by her parents, John and Christina Buchan, plus three sisters and three brothers she leaves to mourn her passing nineteen nieces and nephews, plus many great-nieces and nephews and !
a host of friends including her dear friend Joan Rickard. Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 29th, from 7-9pm in the Sapperton Baptist Church, 322 Hospital St., New Westminster. Graveside service was held on Wednesday, March 30 at 11:00 am in Valleyview Memorial gardens, Surrey, BC, followed by a celebration of her life at 1pm in the Sapperton Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.

CATTERMOLE _ Esther Louise (nee Stefani), March 10, 1922 - March 29, 2005. Mom left us peacefully in the early morning hours. Sugarfoot has finally gone to join her husband, Ralphie. Mom leaves to mourn her children and grandchildren; Cathy (Mardon) and their daughters, Lise-Anne (Adrian) and Katie; Jim; Tom (Linda) and Laura. Her parents Carlo and Maria, chose names for their six children all beginning with the letter E: Evelyn, Eli, Elsie, Elmo, Edwin and that left mom, the baby, as the last surviving E. Her family will never forget her sense of style, her dedication to all matters of the home and her pride of heritage. Ciao Bella. COOLEDGE _ Wayne Harold (August 8, 1945 March 29, 2005). It is with great sadness we announce that on March 29, 2005, at the age of 59, Wayne passed away suddenly while in the comforting arms of his wife and children. Predeceased by his father Harold and brother-in-law Howard Spencer, Wayne is survived by his loving wife Carol, his children Jason (Carole), Marcia (Sam) Ghadban, Robert (Darcy) Gillespie, Brenna Gillespie and Darren (Tricia), his mother Lorine, sisters Carol Ann Spencer and Ada (Larry) Ward, numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and countless friends. Poppa will be sadly missed by his eight grandchildren: Tanesia, Lexi, James, Tomas, Jarrett, Caleigh, Kate and Timothy. Born in Elkhorn, Manitoba and raised in Fleming and Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Wayne moved to the west coast in 1968, soon began selling heavy equipment and continued to successfully do so for the past 35 years. Wayne was passionate about and actively involved in the BC forestry industry and a proud me!
mber of the Truck Loggers Association. Wayne's other passions included automobiles, riding his Harley, traveling, socializing with his many friends and keeping up with his grandchildren. Wayne valued his relationships with his family and friends above all else. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and loved him. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2005 from 1pm to 4pm at the Sequoia Springs Golf Club, 700 Petersen Road, Campbell River. DOLMANS _ Sonya passed away unexpectedly Sunday March 27, 2005 at the tender age of 23. She was born Sonya Marie Livingston at Richmond General Hospital on September 24, 1981 at 10:40 in the morning. With great sadness Sonya is survived by her loving husband James, beautiful one year old daughter Isabella, mother Karen, father Kevin and sister Rachel. Sonya was predeceased by her grandparents, Adele and Leon Krawchuk and Annie Dolmans. Sonya was always a conscientious student, and she finished her schooling years with honors. She loved spending her time watching hockey, doing crafts, shopping, gambling, but especially she loved spending time with her daughter Isabella and family. She is in the thoughts of family members and friends and we will always remember her contagious smile that she passed on to Isabella. She will be remembered for her creativity and her love to throw theme parties. Organization was her middle name and she never left out any details. Sonya was always a!
grateful person and she never forgot to send those thank you cards by the dozens. She was known for her genuine hospitality and her intuition for putting others before herself. Her caring and nurturing personality will be remembered by all who knew her, even for the shortest of moments. Our memories of her will never be forgotten and will have a special place in our hearts. My dearest Sonya, you are my everything, I treasure every moment of our time together and for every waking moment I will cherish the love we share, forever in my heart, Jamie. DUBORD _ Joanne C. (Bounds) Born on July 7th, 1951, died on March 25, 2005 in Vancouver B.C. Jo was blessed with a 31 year marriage to Paul J. Dubord with three exceptional sons: Luke, Michael and Marc. They were, and always will be, her joy and reward for her love. Jo parted us particularly grateful for the opportunity to be surrounded by a wonderful extended family and friends. In particular Marie and Norman Bounds and Lorraine and Eugene Dubord. FRISK _ Peter Orvald. September 19. 1941 - March 19, 2005. Peter passed away in Surrey Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his son, Edward; his daughter, Lisa Kitsul (Robert); grandchildren, Shane and Hannah; two sisters, Irene Brown (Laurence) and Marian Evans (Chester); two brothers, Mark and Allan (Joanne); and many nephews, nieces and friends. He will be especially missed by his family and his friends at Kinsman Place Lodge in Surrey. Peter was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan but came to BC with his family when he was only two months old. After completing school in Coquitlam, he began a successful career as a carpenter. He had a passion for fishing the lakes and streams of BC and taught others the art and skill of fishing. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1504 Sprice Avenue in Coquitlam on Friday, April 1 at 2:00 PM.

Longley, Marylou Elizabeth (Weight)
LONGLEY _ MaryLou Elizabeth (Weight) passed away peacefully March 11, 2005 after a lengthy battle with diabetes. Her passing was courageous and with the dignity that she lived her life by. Predeceased by her parents Edwin and Liz Weight, her husband Frank and her sons, Leonard and baby Douglas. She leaves behind her daughters Suzanne and Merna, son-in-law Derek, brother Eugene, grandchildren, Andrea, Ricky, Lenny, Dilon and Brandon, and many relatives and friends. MaryLou started working at 16 in nursing and worked until age 64 upon retiring from Burnaby General Hospital after the death of her son Leonard. She loved working at Burnaby and leaves behind many good friends. logologoMANGNALL _ Kenneth Aubrey Kenneth was born in Vancouver, BC on September 7, 1910 and passed away at the Royal Columbian Hospital on March 27, 2005 at age 94. Kenneth is survived by son Norman (Bernita), daughter Marion Northcott, grandchildren Karen and Darren, extended family - the Benedicts. Predeceased by first wife Dorothy (1971), second wife Evelyn (2000) and three siblings. Kenneth worked for Canadian National Telegraph (CP-CN Telecommunications) from age 15 until retirement in 1972. Kenneth served with the Canadian Army in Europe during World War II and was active in the Army Reserve into the mid 60's. Kenneth was a long-time member of Elks, Lodge #1. Ken wrestled professionally in his youth and was an avid cyclist receiving many trophies. Ken was a cycling official during the 1954 British Empire Games in Vancouver, and managed the Canadian Cycling Team during the 1959 Pan American Games in Chicago. He was proud to be one of the oldest participants in the Cana!
dian Diabetes Bike-A-Thon. An avid golfer he played well into his 80's (age that is, not score!) Ken is remembered for his wit, humour and kindness. A true gentleman to the end. MERRITT _ Merne (Annie) Marion (Anderson) it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Merne Merritt on March 27, 2005 following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers disease. Merne was 84 years old. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Russell, her beloved son Ron (Donna), cherished grandchildren, Nicole (Brad) and Nathan, and many other relatives and friends. Merne and Russ retired to 70 Mile House (Green Lake) B.C. where they enjoyed fifteen wonderful years with family and friends. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for the loving care Merne received during her five year residence at Sagebrush Lodge in Osoyoos, B.C. A gathering to celebrate Merne's life will be held at: O.K. Falls Senior Centre, 1128 Willow St., O.K. NEARY _ Marjorie D. February 12, 1926 - March 27, 2005. Survived by Joe, her adoring husband of 54 years, 3 adult children: Michael, Eric and Pamella. She was dedicated to her 6 grandchildren. Marjorie was accomplished at needlework and garment making; she was well-traveled, enjoyed hiking and cruising. We all remember Marjorie for her infectious smile, humour, warmth, cheerfulness and generosity. PATERSON _ Marion Ruth in her 92nd year passed away at Lion's Gate Hospital on March 22, 2005. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Elinore Landry and Sydney Anderson; sister Eleanor Stedwill and brother John Acheson both of Waterloo, Ont.; grandchildren David Landry of Vancouver, Bryan Landry of Calgary, Cheryl Babb of Bear, Delaware, Wayne Landry of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Ember Williams of Vancouver, Dana Campbell of Calgary and 7 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Paterson was a Registered Nurse and her career spanned 50 years. In her later years she enjoyed watching tennis and golf, and was an avid bridge player. RALSTON _ Floyd William born in Edmonton, Alberta passed away suddenly at MSA Hospital on March 25, 2005, age 62. He is predeceased by his wife Vicki and will be sadly missed by his son Richard (Liane) and daughter Tracy. Floyd is survived by his brothers Dave, Ted and Dan. Floyd and Vicki made their home in Surrey, B.C. where Floyd worked as a land surveyor for more than 30 years. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his garden and his daily walks. He will missed by his relatives, friends and neighbours. In keeping with his wishes, service will be held.

RUSSELL _ Elmer E. passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Ridge Meadows Hospital. Elmer touched everyone with his joyful spirit, generosity, self deprecating humour and talent in music and home repairs. He is predeceased by his brother George, sisters Sarah and Dorothy and sister-in-law Nan. He will be sadly missed by all of his family including his Lucy, daughter Wendy (Gerry), sons Edward and Perrie (Lavonne), brothers Joe, Wilf and Albert, their wives Joan and Bu, in-laws Mary and Dick, his four grandchildren and all his nieces and nephews. He was a great brother-in-law to the Chauvin family and a wonderful stepdad to Lucy's six children and their spouses and a loving Pepe to his fourteen step-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday April 3rd at 1:00pm at the Arbor Chapel, Vally View Gardens, 14644-72nd Ave, Surrey. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Elmer's name to the B.C. STAMP _ Vera Olive, aged 92, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2005. She was predeceased by Ron, her cherished husband of 58 years, her beloved daughter Penny Stewart, and her sister Daisie MacFarlane. Vera is survived and lovingly remembered by her son Graeme, daughter-in-law Betty, and grandchildren Shannon, David, Duncan, Allison, Cameron, and Lauren. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law Emily, niece Liana and family, and special friend Ursula. Born, raised, and married in Winnipeg, Vera moved with her family to Vancouver in 1949. She was a devoted wife, mother, and wonderful cook who loved to entertain her many friends in her home. Her home was always open to her children's friends and is well remembered for the many parties held in the family rec room. Vera was also active in the community, and was Past President and a lifetime member of the Lady Vancouver Club. A service celebrating her life will be held at 1PM on Friday April 1, 2005 in St. M!

STODDART _ Evelyn Rosina (nee Wood) was born on May 17, 1914 in New Westminster, B.C. She passed away peacefully in Queen's Park Care Home on March 18, 2005. Predeceased by loving husband Earle in 1975. Survived by loving son Bill (Debbie) and grandchildren Jennifer and Greg. Also survived by sisters-in-law Julia Dimopolous (Earle) and Nora Wood (Ernie), brother-in-law Bob Gray (Elsie), as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Evelyn will be deeply missed by all of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her infinite kindness, warmth and sharp, witty sense of humour. Evelyn touched the hearts and souls of many people as she embraced life to the fullest. Memories of Evelyn will be treasured always by those who loved her. van ZUUK _ Hendrik A. With great sadness we announce the sudden passing on March 26, 2005 of our husband, father, and grandfather. Henk was predeceased by his younger son George in 1997 and his older brother Bert in 2003. He is survived by his loving wife Henny, daughter Mary, son Jerry, grandchildren Jenny (Scott) Reid and Paul Vonk, and his most beloved great-grandchildren Katelyn and Corey. He is also survived by his brother Wynand in the Netherlands and many other relatives and friends in Europe and Canada. Last but not least, he leaves behind his doting four-legged companions, Molly and Hanna. Henk was born in Hilversum, Holland in 1926. He met the love of his life in 1946 and five years later he and Henny tied the knot. In 1957, they and their three children set sail for Canada and settled in Vancouver. In 1978 Henk and Henny moved to Delta. Henk had a checkerboard career, which culminated in almost 20 years of service with B.C. Tel. He enjoyed 13 years of retirement, !
during which his favorite pastimes were reading, doing crosswords, and watching hockey. Henk will be remembered for stimulating conversation, his keen devotion to family, his generosity, and his sense of humour. We will miss him dearly. There will be a Celebration of Life at 10 am on Saturday, April 2 at Fraser Heights Funeral Home, 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey.
