Hi,

My name is Geraldine and I work at the Searcy County Library in the genealogy dept.

Our library was sponsored by the Jim G. Ferguson family.

James Garland Ferguson born 1885 father is
James Wiley Ferguson born 1842 Haywood Co. Tn  father is
Andrew Fitzpatrick Ferguson born 1800 York SC father is
Robert Ferguson born 1764 father is
Andrew Ferguson 1724 father is unproven May be Robert born 1700

Will of Andrew Ferguson Will of Andrew Ferguson ( Shirley Cosney book)  In the Name of God Amen; This Seventeenth day of February in the year of Our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and eight I, Andrew Ferguson, now living on the head watery of Crowders Creek in Lincolnton County State of North Carolina an being in an infirm state as to bodily health but of perfect and sound mine, memory and judgment (Thanks to Almighty God), calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it's appointed for all once to die, I do hereby constitute this to be my last will and testament first I recommend my Soul to the merciful God who have it and my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my executors the funeral expenses and all my just debts I allow to be paid out of the whole.
As touching my worldly estate and property which God has been pleased to bestow upon me I give Devise and dispose of in the manner and form following. First I will and bequeath to my Dear and loving wife Mary Ferguson all my right and like to the Plantation whereon we now live during her life containing about two hundred acres in and all right members and appurtenances thereunto belonging also all my stock of horses and cows hogs and all household furniture and farming utensils with a right and power to dispose of all these as she may think proper at her decease except the plantation and the corner cupboard which I allow to stand in the house, Secondly I will and bequeath to all my married Children viz; Thomas, Robert, James,William, Andrew, Mary Ann Neil and John to each of them one silver dollar to be paid out of the whole. Thirdly I will and bequeath to my son George Ferguson (at my wife Mary Ferguson's decease) his and assigns for ever the above
mentioned Plantation will al? members and appurtenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold for ever.

Andrew the first born child of Robert Ferguson 1764 and his wife Francis Love Ferguson is mention is his grandfathers will.  Andrew's middle name may be from his grandmother Mary Fitzpatrick wife of Andrew Ferguson. I need proof of this. We do not at present have a marriage license for Andrew and wife Mary. Mary outlived Andrew and drew up her own will. She listed the same children as Andrew had in his will, however she changed the will to give the home place to one of  George's children rather than her son.  George would later come to Ar. where he died and is buried here.

I hope some of you are working on this as I need more on the other children of Andrew Ferguson 1724 and Mary (Fitzpatrick?) Thomas 1760, Robert 1764, James, William, Andrew, Mary Ann Ferguson Neil, John and his youngest son George. These are the same children listed in the will of his wife Mary.

Thanks
Geraldine
