Dear Rex
I checked using Dean McGee's calculator and he appears to be match R1b.
He is about a GD of 7 of the R1b modal so is reasonably close to a
typical R1b. Probably not R1bSTR19Irish, R1bSTR22, or R1bSTR47Scots the
major known varieties. His best match is probably to a group like
R1bSTR36, which yes is what David Faux belongs in and who is S28+ but
another person in the same group from Germany is not. However that said
S28+ is probably a reasonable possibility. His closest 43 marker match
(GD=10) is Birnbach another S28+.
However, that said I am a little uncomfortable predicting things because
he has only been scored for 32/37 markers I normally use.
Cheers
John McEwan

Subject: [DNA] HUMPHREY y-STR Markers_R1b
Dear List,
The following markers were done for a family relation (no DNA background
knowledge), surname HUMPHREY, and he was classified (by DNAH) as R1b.
Most look pretty standard to me, but I am not much of an expert either.
I
would appreciate someone with a more practised eye casting a glance over
the
results and pointing out anything at all significant.
I did note that his #464 at 14,15,17,17 matches David Faux in John
McEwan's
list, so I have told him he is in good company David.
Finally, I tried to send these results some time ago to Mike Humphrey,
to
see if he could spot any Humphrey connections. I have not had a
response, so
perhaps used an out of date address.
I anyone knows of a HUMPHREY/HUMPHRIES project I can contact, I would
appreciate a contact email address.
Many thanks, Rex
