Just to comment on your last question.
If you read through the papers written about analysing Neanderthal
sequences you will see just how difficult it is.
The published sequences, of maybe 300-400 bases, are not actual sequences,
but rather what each researcher has concluded from linking together any
number of fragments.
It would be nice if longer sequences were to appear - and maybe they will
in due course. However, progress is clearly very slow and very expensive.
Unfortunately, you cannot just take a Neanderthal's mouth swab and send
it to FTDNA with a cheque - all the pity.
