Steve, I would agree with that, certainly. However, we would still need the
genetic genealogy community as a whole to agree and accept and follow the
same guidelines. I think that's just as a important an issue. And maybe
I'm wrong, but I don't see a significant concern or willingness to consider
this. It's a bit like a Dell computer refusing to talk to an Apple. I'm
not trying to offend in saying this, but I am attempting to challenge those
who are in the position to make a difference to give it some attention.
I've spoken to Family Tree, where our Project is, about it more than once,
and I will continue to do so. If the community - particularly meaning all
of you who are willing to read my notes - would make your concerns known to
those in the position to really do something about it, maybe there would be
more action than there is at the moment. Right now I feel there is too much
insulation and unwillingness to engage with others/competitors. We need
some committed, clever people to begin the process. Alas, I may be the
former, but unfortunately not the latter.

We will ALL benefit.
