Hi again,
Forgot to mention another New Salem connection --
Graham.

I believe my Peter Elmore married Lidda Graham,
daughter of William Barclay Graham.

Wm. Graham had a son William,who was the grandfather
of Mentor Graham, the New Salem school teacher.

In an unexpected connection to the Menard County
Shorts of the Oakford/Concord area is:
My 4th great-grandfather was John Crain who died in
Mercer Co., KY in 1831. His son, my 3rd
great-grandfather Nathaniel, stayed in KY; his
daughter Isabell married Josiah Short, one of their
children was David Rice Short who was the father of
James Lincoln Short. After David's death, his wife
Sarah married Elias Hohimer. Another Menard County
name.

It really is true, if you dig far enough, you are
related to everyone!!
