Subject: [ROOTS-L] SHRIVER and SCHRIVER Families of Pennsylvania and Maryland
Date: Wed, 16 Jan 2008 23:57:25 -0800 (PST)

The Littlestown Historical Society in Adams County,
PA. :
Next month Feb. 19, 2008 7:00 P.M.
at Centenary United
Methodist Church, 50 E. King St., Littlestown
(Adams County, PA.) in their fellowship hall
(Methodist Social Hall) in the rear of the church
(door off alley beside building, ample parking) the
speaker is discussing "Andreas AKA Andrew SHRIVER and
Union Mills in MD." The speaker will be Ivan LUFRIU.
Andrew AKA Andreas SCHRIVER was the
first settler to settle in an area near Littlestown---
land about 3 Mi. from Littlestown. Andrew's
descendants established the homestead at Union Mills,
I remembered that Clint BANKERT is
doing research on this family but am having trouble
contacting him by email. Others doing research on
SHRIVER Families may find this enlightening.
One of my paternal ancestor's
guardians, Conrad SHRIVER, was appointed in 1775. My
ancestor was Peter Diedrick THRON AKA TRAN b. 1726 in
Germany-- d. 1774 in Manheim Twp., York Co., PA. I am
going to try to find a link with Andrew SCHRIVER AKA
SHRIVER and Conrad SHRIVER. Spangler's history reveals
that many SCHRIVER's were buried at cemetery of Christ
Evangelical and German Reformed Church, 5 miles west
of Hanover. If you have the genealogy to share
concerning Conrad and Andrew SHRIVER, please contact
me. Thank you.
