I have finally completed much of my search on this family of many surnames !! Many thought that Jacob Rund/Round married Prudence Maroe in Phila., PA. This was probably Jacob Rowand of NJ , son of John Rowand. Jacob Round was born in Dackenheim, Phalz-Bayern,Germany on 2 Jan,1738 to Christopher Rund and Anna Catherina ? Christopher was born in 1687 and died in Germany 25 Apr 1770. Johann Jackob Rund (Round) married Anna Magdalena Staehler in Friedelsheim( near Dackenheim) on 8 Nov 1763. She is believed to be the dau. of Andreas Staehler and Maria Meyer. A dau. , Anna Magdalena, was born and died soon afterwards.

They emigrated to PA between 1764 and 1766. They settled in Westmoreland Co.,PA . All of their children were born in Westmoreland Co., PA. Children included 1. Elizabeth, b abt 1766, Catherine, b abt 1768, Philip, b 1770( my 3rd great grandfather),Christopher (killed by Indians near Ohio River before 1800)b 2 May 1773, Andrew, b 24 Mar 1775, Mary Barbara, b 27 Feb 1778,Daniel, b 28 Oct 1782, Mary Ann(Merium), b abt 1785, Jacob Jr, b 24 July 1787.

While in Westmoreland Co., Jacob Rund/Round signed several petitions, one near Hannastown in 1774 requesting help in defending against Indian Raids and a very important one in 1784 which was the first test for the newly written "Articles of Confederation" ! Family moved to Hamilton Co.,Ohio abt 1790. Signed for Symmes Purchase in 1791 and Jacob, along with 3 of his sons signed the Butler Co. Indenture of 1811. Jacob was living with his dau., Elizabeth and Aaron Shrader when he died in 1822 at age 84.

Philip, b 1770,was a scout/spy in the Army 1790-1794 and later in War of 1812. He is listed in Butler Co.records as a 'pioneer' of Butler Co. He was married to Mary Dickinson, He had children which included Andrew, b 1799,d 1841 in Fountain Co., Ind. and Ezra Round ( my gggrandfather) b 1810, in Butler Co., Ohio, Joseph Round/Rowan, b 1821, Ohio Co,Ind. and several other children.

Andrew Rund/Round b 1775, took the name Rowen in the 1830s. This family has used all these names due to spelling, brogue, etc. When Daniel Round died in Fountain Co., Ind. in 1831, his name was sapelled 5 different ways on one single page of a hand written probate ; Round, Rowan,Rownd,Rowen and Rown !! Charles Round (round1930)
