Hello John,

Robert Stewart of Norwalk has a number of listings (some referring merely to
descendants, though) in the Stewart Clan Magazine:

He is as far back as the editor goes. Robert bought property in Norwalk in
1660, moving from Milford, where he had not been long. He marr. 12 June
1661 Bethia Rumball/Rumble, dr of Thomas and Rose (Sherwood) of Stratford.
His will was dated 12 Mar 1678/9 but no record of his death can be found;
his widow and eldest son James were appointed administrators 5 Dec 1688
(Fairfield Co. Wills III,260). There is speculation that his father was
James Steward who was in Stamford CT in 1649, found as a defendant in a
civil action, and as a landowner in 1650. This was never proved, however.
More likely he had been a prisoner from the Battle of Worcester and brought
over on the 'John and Sarah'.
