Paul Edward Bray, age 59 of Clinton, formerly of Lake City died Jan. 25 at
the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge from injuries sustained in an
automobile accident. He was born Dec. 29, 1945 in Anderson County. He was a member of
Carroll Hollow Baptist Church. He was a big UT fan who loved riding his Harley
and spending time with his family whom he loved very much. He was preceded in
death by his father, Willis Bray.
He is survived by his mother, Elsie Bray of Lake City; wife, Lynn Bray; sons,
Brandon Bray, Paul Bray; daughters, Melinda Jean Bray, RaeAnn Patricia Bray;
brothers, Herbert Bray and wife, Jewell, Harold Dean Bray and fiancée, Tammy,
all of Clinton; sisters, Pauline McMahan and fiancée, Lee Wicks of Heiskell,
Peggy Sue Wolanin, Shirley Faye Matuszewski and husband, Mike, both of
Cleveland, OH, Annette Lane and husband, Ray of Clinton and Freida Ann Foust and
husband, Mike of Lake City. Funeral services were Jan. 28 at the Hatmaker Funeral
Home with Rev. Wayne Phillips and Pastor Justin Phillips officiating. Interment
was in the Glen Foust Cemetery. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.

Genette Leona Brogan, age 86 of LaFollette died Jan. 25 at the St. Mary's
Health and Rehab. She was a member of Glade Springs Church. She loved crafts,
flowers, cooking, and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Palmer Lee Brogan; parents, Pete and Meadie Ellison Crusoe; brother,
Roy Cosby.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Lorine
Brogan of Jacksboro; daughter, Onalee Brogan of LaFollette; grandchildren, Jackie
Ray, Cindy Price, Rickey Brogan; great grandchildren, Matthew, Justin, and
Brook Price and Jessica Taylor; several nieces and nephews and a host of other
relatives and friends. Funeral Services were Jan. 27 in Martin Wilson Chapel
with Rev. Larry Watts and Rev. Don Reynolds officiating. Interment was in Yoakum
Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


William Russell Cox, age 61 of Morley went to be with the Lord on Jan. 24. He
was a member of Morley Baptist Church. He was a disciplined and skilled
craftsman. His life's statement would be work hard, and then harder, do what is
right and all will be well. He was a loving and dedicated father, and will be
truly missed by all who were blessed to know him. He was preceded in death by his
mother, Suzie Martha Jenkins; grandfather, William Franklin Cox. He is
survived by his wife, Shirley (Carr) Cox; eldest son, William Franklin Cox, II and
wife, Mary; grandson, William Franklin Cox III; daughter, Donna Sue Singley and
husband, Terry; grandsons, Dustin Lane, Sean Bradley and Corey Blake
Anderson; granddaughter, Rachel Leann Singley; son, Shane Allen Cox and wife, Robin;
grandson, Colby Allen; granddaughter, Lacey Chanta; youngest son, Shannon Ray
Cox and wife, Amanda; grandson, Ethan Carter Cox; sisters, Edna Mae Burch,
Annie Jenkins and Mary Allred, all of Fla, Debbie Burns, Connie Kross and Vickie
Vagedes; brothers, Richard Jenkins and Dale Jenkins. Funeral services were Jan.
27 at Morley Baptist Church with Rev. J.L. Shoun officiating and Rev. Melvin
Blankenship obituary and prayer. Interment was in Morley Cemetery. Harp
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Willis Dean Day, age 67 of LaFollette died Jan. 31 at the Select Specialty
Hospital of Tennessee in Knoxville. She was a member of the White Oak Baptist
Church. She loved to read, watch TV, and cook. She loved her family very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Day; daughter, Rhonda Carlton;
parents, Jimmy and Nannie Jones Irwin. She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Granvil Day and Donald and Lisa Day all of White Oak, Mark and
Becky Day and Richard Day; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Henry Mozingo all of
LaFollette; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brother, Junior
Phillips of MI; sister, Georgia White of Radclift, KY; several nieces and
nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were Feb. 1 in
the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Cox and Rev. Billy Joe
Lowe officiating. Internment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Martin Wilson
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


Geraldene "Jewel" Hutson Hatmaker, age 69 of Lake City, the Oak Grove
Community died Jan. 30 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She attended
Sequoyah Missionary Baptist Church in Andersonville. She was a loving wife,
mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F.
and Bertha Marie Hutson; sister, Dinah Miller; nephews, Leslie Overton and
Robbie Miller. She is survived by her husband, Troy Hatmaker of Lake City;
daughter, Connie Gail Gill of Clinton, Kathy Dragoo and husband, Rick of Thayer,
Ind; grandchildren, Christie and Anthony Bunch of Clinton, Jeremy and Amy Gill
of Clinton, Tim and Laura Gill of Murfreesboro, Rick Dragoo, Jr and Katie
Dragoo of Thayer; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Gill and Dylan Harmon; sister, Doris
Overton and husband, R.J. of Jacksboro; brothers, J.D. Huston and wife, Myrna
of LaFollette, Von Hutson and wife, Brenda of Clinton, Lynn Hutson of Norris,
Jim Hutson and wife, Cindy of Knoxville; special niece and nephew, Hannah and
Issac White of Andersonville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other
relatives and friends. Funeral services were Feb. 2 at the Sequoyah Missionary
Baptist Church in Andersonville with Rev. Gerald Hatmaker and Rev. Lance
White officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral

Mamie S. Knight, age 77 of the Beech Grove Community in Lake City died Jan.
28 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville. She was born March 28, 1927 in
Anderson County. She was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed
gardening, fishing and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death
by her parents, William Otis and Maggie Massengill Sprankles; husband, Fred
Knight; daughter, Ailene Knight.
She is survived by her sons, Bob Knight of Beech Grove, J.L. Knight and wife,
Brenda of Lake City, Eddie Knight and wife, Kathy of Lake City; daughters,
Joan Foust and husband, Terry of Medford, Wanda Scarbrough and husband, Floyd of
Beech Grove; brothers, Bill Sprankles of California, Bud Sprankles of Clear
Branch, David Sprankles of Michigan, Jimmy Sprankles of Norris; sisters, Marie
Hikler of Beech Grove, Lassie Lapole of Michigan, Shirley Adkins of Beech
Grove; 11 grandchildren, two step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and three
step great grandchildren. Funeral services were Jan. 31 at the Hatmaker
Funeral Home with Rev. David Goins and Jeff Hawkins officiating. Interment was in
the Beech Grove Cemetery. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.

Jeffrey Smith Partin, age 49 of Toledo, OH died Jan. 23 at his home. He was
preceded in death by his brother, James Partin. He is survived by his parents,
Bobby and Shirley Partin; sister, Laura and husband, William Dunaway;
grandmother, Laura; special companion, Doris Hayward; several aunts, uncles, nieces
and nephews. Funeral services were Jan. 28 at the Harp Funeral Home with Rev.
Ronnie Thomas officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery. Harp Funeral
Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Clarence A. Perkins, age 91 of Louisville, KY, formerly of Black Oak, KY died
Jan. 25 at the VA Hospital in Louisville, KY. He is survived by his sisters,
Madeline Jones of Louisville, KY and Dorothy Franklin of Illinois; a host of
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services were Jan. 31
at the Highland Park Cemetery with Rev. Durand Dixon officiating. Military
honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

Wellene Phillips, age 59 of Lake City died Jan. 26 at her residence. She was
born July 19, 1945 in Anderson County. She was a member of Willowbrook Baptist
Church in Lake City. She was preceded in death by her father, William Pickel.
She is survived by her mother, Verla Pickle; son, Frank Phillips and wife,
Tammy; daughters, Kathy Jackson, Sharon Braden, all of Lake City; Andrea
Phillips, Haley Phillips, both of KY; brother, Sonny Pickel and wife, Sandy of New
Haven, IN; sister, Carolyn Taylor and husband, Leon of California. Funeral
services were Jan. 29 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home with Rev. David Dial and Pastor
Justin Phillips officiating. Interment was in the Beech Grove Cemetery.

Christine Partin Russell, age 67 of Clairfield died Jan. 24 at Beech Tree
Manor. She was born March 15, 1937 at Eagan and was a member of Midway Baptist
Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayland Partin. She is survived
by her husband, Ray T. Russell of Clairfield; daughter, Susan Hammer and
husband, Mark of Greensburg, IN; sons, Darl Russell and wife, Margie of
Clairfield, Tim Russell and wife, Beth of Jacksboro; eight grandchildren; mother, Emily
Partin of Clairfield; sisters, Charlene Partin and husband, Frankie of
Clairfield, Carolyn Thomas and husband, Ed of Clairfield.
Funeral services were held Jan. 26 at the Cox and Son Chapel with Rev. Horace
Partin and Rev. Bobby Bennett officiating. Interment was in the Hamlin Town
Cemetery.

Mary Jane Rutherford, age 85 of LaFollette, died at 9:20 p.m. on Jan. 29, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge where she had been a patient for three
weeks. She was a resident of St. Mary's Health and Rehab Center of Campbell
County since becoming ill in 2001. She was of the Holiness Faith and was ready to
meet the Lord. She loved to cook, collect recipes, and work in her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Elizabeth Dupuy
Rutherford. She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Rutherford of LaFollette; special
nephew, Carl Finley Rutherford and his children, David Carl Rutherford and Emily
Whited also of LaFollette, 13 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and
nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Jan. 31 at
Walters Chapel with Rev. Estel Powers and Rev. Harry James officiating.
Interment was at Walden Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.

Easter S. Williamson, age 63 of LaFollette died Jan. 28 at her home. She
attended Rock Creek Church of God, Pleasant Hill Church of God, and Branam
Community Church of God. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and going to church. She
loved all her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Clarence Williamson; parents, William and Sarah Blew Swain; sister, Dorothy
Eldman; brothers, Arthur and Bob Swain. She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Verlin and Brenda K. Bolton of Pioneer, Lester M. and Sherry M. Bolton
and Leslia Tracy and Jeannie Bolton all of LaFollette; six grandchildren and
seven great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law, Harvey and Clara Swain
and Ralph and Mary Swain all of LaFollette, Howard Swain of Davenport, IA, Carl
Swain of Jacksboro; sisters, Rosie Mae Hunt of Bettendorf, IA, Ruby Durham of
LaFollette; sister and brother-in-law, Pearlie Arlene and Lance Graves of MO:
several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral
Services were Jan. 31 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev.
Audie Murray and Rev. Hansford Bolton officiating. Internment was in Peabody
Cemetery.

Emmaline Williamson, age 93 of Maryville died Jan. 20 at the University of
Tennessee Medical Center. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Roxie Sharp Brown; her first husband,
Rev. Joseph Christopher; infant daughter, Joann Christopher; second husband,
Burgess Prows; brothers, Esco, Floyd and Fred Brown; sisters, Atha Ballard,
Sadie Morton and Willie Wright. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Christopher
Lawhon and husband, Bill and their children, Marsha Lawhon, Steve Lawhon and
Carol Ann Woody, all of Maryville; son, Floyd Prows of Maryville, daughter,
Kathleen Prows Atchley and son in law, Lowell Atchley of Lexington, KY and their
children, Emily Atchley of Lexington, KY and Laura Atchley of Fort
Lauderdale, FLA; four great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Prows of Wartburg; several
nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Jan. 22 at the Miller Funeral Home
Magnolia Chapel with Rev. Wayne Trentham, Rev. Fred Self and Rev. Tom Hatley
officiating. Interment was in Bakers Forge Cemetery. Miller Funeral Home was in
charge of the arrangements.

Nadena Ruth Wood, age 73 of Maryville, formerly of Jellico died Jan. 22 at
her daughter's home. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jesse
James Douglas, Sr. and Rose Meadows Douglas; brothers, James James, Jr, Bill
Douglas, Claude and Monroe; infant brother, Mark Charles Douglas; sister, Alva
Sue Gavin.
She is survived by her daughter, Randi Denise Wood of Maryville; sisters,
Coleen Oliver of Jellico, Ardra Fuson of Fairview, KY; nieces, Connie Baird of
Jellico, Cheryl Shelton of Knoxville, Dot Douglas of Jellico, Amanda Faye
Hatfield of Jellico; nephews, Jason Head of Jellico, Billy Payne of Jellico; a host
of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services were Jan.
24 at the Harp Funeral Home with Rev. Orville Petrey officiating. Interment was
in the Jones Cemetery. Harp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
