Rev. Clyde Bolinger, age 76, of Middlesboro, Ky. was born March 28, 1930 in
Claiborne County and passed away February 3, 2007 at Middlesboro Appalachian
Hospital.

He was saved at an early age and was ordained into the ministry at the Old
Yellow Creek Baptist Church. He also pastored Carr's Chapel Baptist Church,
Speedwell, Shawanee Baptist Church, Shawanee, Cave Springs Baptist Church,
Tazewell, Fredonia Baptist Church of Crossville. He was a faithful member of Gap
Creek Baptist Church until his death. He served 2 years in the US Army with the
Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his father and mother: Bill
Bolinger and Mattie Maples; stepfather: Paul Maples.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Betty Thacker Bolinger; son: Tim and
wife, Connie Bolinger of Myrtle Beach, Sc; granddaughters: Kija Natie and
Nikki Jo Bolinger of Knoxville.; step grandson: Jeremy Lawson Abbott; brother:
James Bolinger and wife, Joy of Harrogate; brothers and sisters-in-law: Randall
and Edna Wilson of Middlesboro, Ky, Charles and Lois Thacker of Crystal Lake,
Il., Cleo and Clyde Conway of Bradton, Fl., Helen Yeary of Indianapolis, In,
Ken Rose Thacker of Shawanee; nieces: Belinda Bolton of Nashville, Jamie Petree
of Knoxville; nephews: Todd and Susan Bolinger of Knoxville; cousins: Jerry
and Carolyn Mullins of Knoxville, and Roger and Parry Fowler of Romulus, Mi.;
very special friends: Harry and Pauline Chadwell of Ewing, Va, Elsie and Garland
Pock of Crossville, Lonnie and Doris Adkins of Knoxville, Dr. Hilton Brooks
and Jimmy, Dena and Gene Nelson of Middlesboro, Ky.

Funeral services were Wednesday, February 7 at 8 p.m. at Gap Creek Baptist
Church with Rev. William Boyd Bingham and Rev. Anthony Mountain officiating. Dan
Cox presented the eulogy. Music provided by Jane Cox, Jimmy Jackson and the
Gap Creek Choir led by Katie Chumley. Burial in the Riverview Cemetery with
military honors.

Pallbearers: Kenny Cox, J.R. Lawson, Ken Lawson, Todd Bolinger, Jeremy Lawson
Abbott and Dennis Robinson. Honorary pallbearers: Mike Lawson, All deacons

Goldie Faye Bolton, age 65, of Rogersville, was born July 1, 1941 and passed
away February 4, 2007 at her home.

She was a retired chief cook and a member of Rogersville Baptist Temple. She
was preceded in death by her parents: Tom and Hattie Sue Brock Peters; sister:
Viola Peters; brothers: Gene and John Peters; and her loving husband: James
Hillard Bolton.

She is survived by her stepson: Bobby Clint Bolton; children: Samuel Lee
Partin, David Wayne Bolton, Penny Gail Bolton Hamblen, Billy Byrd Bolton, Linda
Faye Bolton; grandchildren: Dexter Lee Partin, Keisha Lee Owensby, Geneva Star
Partin, Amanda Marrow, Holly Salyer, Tiffany Marrow; great grandchildren:
Dravin Salyer, William Jones, Victoria Jones, Nevach Salyer; brother: Larry Peters

HAZEL MAE MAYES HECK







Hazel Mae Mayes Heck, age 91, was born on June 8, 1915 and passed over to be
with the Lord February 3, 2007 at Glenn Allen, Va.

She was a charter member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Speedwell, where
she was active for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of
64 years: Nathaniel C. Heck; parents: James and Hattie Mayes; brothers:
Clyde, Curtis and Clayton; sisters: Gladys Robertson and Cleo Poteet.

She is survived by her daughter: Una H. Wright and son-in-law Rev. Lowell
Wright of Mineral, Va; grandsons: Kevin L. Wright and his wife ElizaBeth of
McClean, Va, Troy N. Wright and his wife Erika of Fredericksburg, Va; great
grandsons: Pierce and Joseph Wright of McClean, Va. and Luke, Andrew and Jacob Wright
of Fredericksburg, Va.; sisters: Mrs. Edith Tinnel and Joyce Bennett and her
husband Rev. Wm. C. Bennett all of Maryville; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law: Mr. Frank Heck, Mrs. Clayton Heck, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Hall, Mr. and Mrs.
Aaron Heck, Mr. and Mrs. Olen Heck and Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Heck; and many nieces
and nephews.

Funeral services were Thursday, February 8 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lowell Wright
and Rev. Lynn Ray presiding at the funeral and Rev. Bill Bennett and Rev.
Lowell Wright at the graveside services. Music by Kevin Wright, Troy Wright,
ElizaBeth Wright and Pierce Wright. Burial in the Greasy Hollow Cemetery.

Ella G. (Chumley) Penn, age 81, of Clyde, Oh., was born March 23, 1925 in
Tazewell and passed away January 14, 2007 at her home.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clyde, Oh. and a member of
the Women of the Church. She was the daughter of the late John and Vida (Goins)
Kitchen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters:
Edith Noah and Avis Hicks; brother: Elmo Kitchen.

Survivors include her husband: Donald Penn; daughter: Jenell (Daniel) Craig
of Clyde, Oh.; sons: Jerry (Vivian) Chumley of Fremont, Oh., Dexter (Sally)
Chumley of Hartville, Oh., Nathan Chumley of Vickery, Oh.; stepsons: Bruce (Anna)
Penn of Norwalk, Oh., Danny (Debbie) Penn of Lindsey, Oh.; eight
grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters: Evelyn
McCleary and Ruth Hickman of Tennessee; half-sister: Kay Aver; half-brother: J.D.
Kitchen both of Washington.

Funeral services were Thursday, January 18 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist
Church, Brown St., Clyde, Oh. with the Rev. Junior Kerns officiating. Burial in
Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

ALEX FRANKLIN PRESSNELL







Alex Franklin Pressnell, age 78, of Tazewell, was born January 22, 1929 and
passed away February 6, 2007 at Claiborne County Hospital.

He was a member and deacon of New Tazewell First Baptist Church. He was a
graduate of ETSU and taught school in Maryland and Ohio. He also sold Real Estate
in Ohio. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. He was preceded
in death by his parents: William and Eva Poore Pressnell; brother: Arthur
Richard Pressnell; sister: Irma June Pressnell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years: Dorothy Ramsey Pressnell of
Tazewell; son: David Alex Pressnell of Knoxville; sisters: Mary Mink of Powell,
Leola Justice, Nioma Widner both of Springfield, Oh; brothers: Leonard
Pressnell of Columbus, Oh, Edward Pressnell of Waynesville, Oh, Roy Pressnell of
Springfield, Oh, Jerry Pressnell of Indianapolis, In; several nieces, nephews, and
a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Friday, February 9 at 10 a.m. in the Coffey Funeral
Home Chapel with Dr. Randall Pressnell and Rev. Travis Pressnell officiating.

Ruthann Ramsey, age 57, of Harrogate, was born December 14, 1949 and passed
away February 8, 2007.

Ruthann was a member of the Pump Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in
death by her father: Russell Morgan.

Survivors include husband: Arch Ramsey of Harrogate; mother: June Bolton
Morgan of Michigan; brothers: James Morgan and Charles Morgan both of Michigan;
sisters: Bonnie Asher, Debbie Shipman, Pam Fryer all of Michigan, Marilyn Bell
of Virginia.

Eula Gray Roberts, age 97, of Ewing, Va., was born November 4, 1908 and
passed away February 10, 2007 at Claiborne County Hospital.

She was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert H. Leonard Jr. and Amanda
Dalton Leonard; sisters: Myrtle Leonard Cosby, Mollie Leonard Ellison, Julia
Leonard Burchette, Laura Leonard Edington, Corneia Leonard Shoffner; brothers:
Neil Leonard, Dorsie Leonard, White Leonard, Loyd Leonard.

She is survived by her sister: Verna Leonard Beasley of Knoxville; several
nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, February 13 at 12 p.m. in the Claiborne
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Walker officiating. Burial in the Shoffner
Cemetery.

Floyd S. (Scotty) Scott, age 92, of Morrow, passed away February 6, 2007.

He held memberships in Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Forest Park, Tara
Shrine Club, Morrow Lodge #734 F&AM and Shawanee Lodge #546 F&AM.

He is survived by his wife: Irene Scott; sister: Mary Frances Scott of
Shawanee; sisters-in-law: Mildred Collacott of Arlington, Tx., Grace Buis of
Tazewell, Betty Venable of Grant, Al., JoAnn Dawson of Charleston, Wv.

Graveside services were Saturday, February 10 at 2 p.m. at the Scott Cemetery
with Rev. Bill Duncan officiating.

Nealie K. Sexton, age 69, of Knoxville, was born September 22, 1937 and
passed away February 5, 2007 at her home.

She was a member of the New Tazewell Christian Church. She worked at Signal
Knitting Mills and housekeeper for many in this area. She was preceded in death
by her mother: Beulah Atkins; father: Charlie Harvey; son: Troy Cline Jr.;
great grandchild: Michael A. Cooper.

She is survived by her daughter: Mona Lisa Williams of Williston, Sc.; son:
Michael Cooper, Sr.; grandchildren: Michael Cooper, Jr., Christopher Cooper,
Brittany Cooper all of Knoxville; great grandchild: Matthew A. Cooper of
Knoxville; sister: Juanita Bolden of Wayne, Mi.; half-sister: Norma Sharp;
half-brother: Raymond Lynn Sexton bother of Maynardville; and several nieces, nephews,
and a host of other relatives and friends.

Amber Dawn Shelton, age 27, of Bulls Gap, was born April 2, 1979 and passed
away February 5, 2007 at her home.

She was a member of Stillwater Church of God. Her former employment was
Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries.

She is survived by her husband: David Shelton; children: Sierra Shelton,
Caleb Shelton, Isaiah Shelton all of Bulls Gap; father: Michael Browning of
Mosheim; mother and step-father: Sonyia and Robert Arrowood of Morristown; sisters:
Shiena Livingston of Morristown, Miranda Chancey of Ocala, Fl., Keri Loden of
Morristown; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Friday, February 9 at 12 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Gunter
officiating.

Ely Joe Smith, age 74, of Tazewell, was born in Daisy, Ky. and passed away
suddenly on February 10, 2007 at his home.

He was a 50 + year member of Nolan Masonic Lodge #806. He had worked as a
coal miner, a sawmill operator, a mine foreman, a mining inspector, and finally,
as a coal operator, before moving to Tennessee, where he operated an auto
parts store. He will be long remembered as the consummate storyteller and
practical joker. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ransom Smith and Eva Carter
Smith; siblings: John L. Smith, Odell Smith, Mary Shepherd Cornett, three
infant siblings; half-sister: Patricia Smith Thompson.

He will be sorely missed by his wife of 51 years: Mary Elizabeth Oliver
Smith; children: Shirley Broughton Robinson (Doug), Debra Joy Riley (Louis), Libby
Slusher (James), and Randall (O.T.) Keith Smith (Portia); grandchildren:
Lezlie Jo Slusher McCrory (Patrick), Brandon Slusher, Ian, Tristan, and Grant
Riley, Chandler and Corbett Smith; half siblings: Oscar and Estil Smith, Linda
Smith, Paul Smith, and Lora E. Asher; step mother: Celeste Smith; ex-wife: Cleda
McNulty Smith; and a host of friends.

Funeral services were Monday, February 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Claiborne
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Overholt and Rev. Jim Blevins officiating.
Music by Cedar Grove Baptist Church Choir. Burial in the Green Hills Cemetery in
Middlesboro, Ky. with Masonic services.

June Evans Treece, was born March 29, 1926 in Claiborne County and passed
away February 5, 2007 at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Milton and Lucinda Evans. She was a member
of Underwood Grove Baptist Church. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Delta
Kappa Gamma teacher's society, and a retired teacher from the Claiborne
County School System. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her
husband of 52 years: Eugene Treece; son: Donnie Treece; brother: Claude Evans;
and an infant grandson.

She is survived by her sons: Darrell Treece and wife Marilyn, Gary Treece and
devoted caregiver and daughter-in-law: Lena Treece; daughter: Deborah Treece
Chumley and husband, Danny; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren;
brother: Ralph Evans and wife Maude; sisters-in-law: Lenora McNew and Betty Evans;
special caregiver: Genny Bussell and a host of other nieces, nephews, friends
and family.

Funeral services were Thursday, February 8 at 11 a.m. in the Coffey Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin Simmons officiating. Music provided by Ben and
Melissa Dishner, Frank Chumley and Kris Wilburn. Burial in the Town Creek
Memorial Gardens.

Homer Lee Trent, Jr., age 50, of Sneedville, was born June 25, 1956 and
passed away February 6, 2007 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital.

He worked for Randy Carpenter Logging. He was preceded in death by his
parents: Homer Lee Trent, Sr. and Martha Jane Brooks Trent.

He is survived by his wife: Brenda Sue Trent; daughters: Rebecca Ladona
Trent, Amelia Lee Trent all of Sneedville; brother: Jerry Trent and wife Sherry of
Rogersville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 10 at 11 a.m. in the Coffey Funeral
