Really?? That this might be possible came as such a complete surprise to me that I checked with a friend who is a former LAC archivist and his reaction is the same as mine. I'd be surprised if circulation staff even have the ability to order original material that has been withdrawn from circulation. On any occasion that I've tried ordering original material not realizing it was filmed, I've been pointed to the film. It is possible to get access to original material if the film is difficult to see, but it requires getting permission.
