documents my Tunison line back to the first Cornelius. I'm not certain

Notes for BERNARDUS LAGRANGE TUNISON:
Named in Father's will.

Bernardus Lagrange Tunison is sometimes found on some pedigrees as
Bogardus Tunison, but no records seem to bear out this name. He appears
to have been named for his mother's brother, Bernardus De La Grange.

In 1795, Bernardus and Lydia with their first three sons migrated from
Somerset County, New Jersey to the Finger lakes area of Seneca County,
New York. He was a farmer . Bernardus acquired a part of Military Lot
69, purchasing it from John Smack of New York City in 1797. Bernardus
purchased 100 acres of land in of Ovid, Seneca County, New York from
Cephas Beach for the sum of 850 dollars.

Bernardus's and Lydia's graves can still be found at the cemetary in
Ovid, New York. Bernardus died February 12, 1845 without having made a
will. The Letter of Administration of the estate of Bernardus Lagrange
Tunison mentions his second wife, Alleta Tunison, and his children;
"Philip Tunison, James Tunison, Le Grange Tunison, & Abigail Smally
(Smalley) wife of Benjamin Smally residing in the town of Covert;

Lydia's parentage is unknown, but she was probably a granddaughter of
Lucas Dippel/Tippel through one of his several sons. Lydia's surname
is listed as Tippel on the record of her marriage to "Bernhardus
Tunison". This marriage took place at Zion Lutheran Church in Oldwick,
Hunterdon County, New Jersey on 24 January 1790.
